Clint proudly supports the Republican Party of Texas Party Platform.  He has a proven track record as a true conservative and is not new to standing up for conservative principles and values

As SD 7 Convention Chairman, Clint shepherded through the platform making process many of the fundamental planks of conservative principles and values by selecting and appointing strong conservative committee chairs and committeemen.  Clearly, as dedicated conservative Republicans, this is a platform that we can be proud of!  Click here to read the 2002 Texas State Party Platform.

¨      COMMITTED ECONOMIC CONSERVATIVE – FOR LOWER TAXES, FEWER REGULATIONS, AND A STRONG EMPHASIS ON BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.

Clint Moore is a dedicated economic conservative, and committed to tax relief and slowing the growth of federal spending.  He will work to cut fraud and waste in the federal government, and fight to reduce burdensome federal regulations that stifle Texas businesses.  Clint strongly supports President Bush’s tax cuts, and will work to ensure they become permanent. Currently, these tax cuts are scheduled to expire in 2010.

¨      COMMITTED SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE – PRO-LIFE, PRO-FAMILY.

Clint Moore is a dedicated social conservative, and proud to be a Pro-Life American. Additionally, he opposes taxpayer funding of abortion, strongly supports the new ban on partial-birth abortion, and opposes governmental assistance in any way of RU-486 (the abortion pill). He also applauds the efforts of Alabama's Judge Roy Moore (no relation) to protect the display of the 10 Commandments in public places, supports prayer in our schools and at public events, and the use of the word "God" in the pledge of allegiance, our currency, and our overall national life.  He definitely opposes the ordination of homosexuals as clergy, and any recognition of homosexual marriages by church or government.

¨      COMMITTED TO OUR NATION’S MILITARY, HOMELAND, BORDER, AND ENERGY SECURITY, AS WELL AS TO OUR PRESIDENT AND OUR GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM.

Clint Moore supports the President in the war against terrorism - 100%. He supports the President’s requests for additional spending on military hardware, as well as pay and benefits for the gallant men and women serving in the Armed Forces. Clint’s late father was a World War II veteran that served in covert military intelligence operations and taught Clint many lessons as to the price of freedom, and what had to be done to protect it. Clint's father also taught him the importance of standing resolutely with our Nation's allies, especially fellow democracies like Israel. Clint firmly believes that America must continue to help and support Israel, as an essential ally and shining light of democracy, in the Middle East.

Clint firmly supports toughening our border security to prevent further illegal immigration, as well as stopping so-called "Sanctuary Policies" in police departments across America that prohibit law enforcement officers from enforcing immigration law

Clint understands better than any candidate, the significance and importance of energy security to Texas and America.  Only through aggressive supply-oriented energy policy, can America achieve its essential levels of National Energy Security. His knowledge and expertise in this critical area, will be a great asset to the people of Congressional District 2. Clint initiated this policy paper program, and provided guidance and stewardship throughout their preparation.
 

¨      COMMITTED TO FASTER ECONOMIC GROWTH, MORE JOBS, MORE INFRASTRUCTURE, AND MORE FINANCIAL SECURITY FOR ALL.

Clint understands a strong economy means more jobs and a stronger Texas.  He will fight to create and protect our Texas and American jobs.  Clint will fight to reduce burdensome federal regulations that stifle Texas businesses and impact their ability to provide good paying jobs. He’ll work hard to spur business development, in order to increase the “velocity” of the money supply, and thereby create more economic growth so that more of us can achieve our American Dream.

¨      COMMITTED TO OUR SENIOR CITIZENS, OUR DISABLED, & OUR FUTURE RETIREES – IMPROVING SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND 401K’S.

Social Security is in danger of being bankrupt around 2040 – so Congress needs to act. Our number one priority should be to protect the benefits of current retirees, and those that near retirees have earned and are entitled to, after a lifetime of hard work. At the same time we need to strengthen our overall Retirement system to ensure future generations have similar assurances, and that a Social Security system is there for our children and our children’s children. Clint Moore will support innovative ways to improve Social Security, in order to insure its role as a part of everyone’s retirement. In addition, a prescription drug benefit should be a high priority for Congress. We need to make sure that this plan is not another big government mandate without choices or flexibility. We need a voluntary program that will give those who need prescription drug coverage the options they can choose from, so that they will not have to choose between their medicine or food on the table.

¨      COMMITTED TO PROTECTING OUR 2^ND AMENDMENT RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.

Clint Moore supports individual rights to bear arms and will oppose any efforts to restrict those rights. We have enough gun laws already, so we simply need to enforce what is already on the books.

¨      COMMITTED TO LOCAL CONTROL OF EDUCATION AND PROTECTING AGAINST UNFUNDED MANDATES, AS WELL AS PROTECTING HOME SCHOOL RIGHTS.

Clint Moore believes the best government is the government that is closest to the people, and that is particularly true when it comes to education. Local control of education is the bedrock of our education system. Unfunded federal mandates of the past have created financial crises for our schools. This past year, the President signed a much needed bi-partisan education reform. Clint will work to see that this “local government knows best” approach is continued in subsequent education appropriations. 

¨     COMMITTED TO CONSTITUENT SERVICE BY DESIGNATING SPECIAL STAFF FOR CONSTITUENT PROBLEMS WITH IRS, SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND VETERANS AFFAIRS.

The citizens of Congressional District 2 deserve the best service from their congressman's office.  Clint Moore will have experienced and dedicated people willing to exceed the expectations of the people of District 2, and help cut through red tape and bureaucracy with Federal agencies.

¨      COMMITTED TO ATTAINING A POSITION ON HOUSE ENERGY & COMMERCE COMMITTEE, WITH ITS JURISDICTION OVER LEGISLATION DIRECTLY AFFECTING OUR DISTRICT ON COMMERCE, ENERGY, TRADE, AIR QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT, HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, CONSUMER PROTECTION, HEALTH, TELECOMMUNICATIONS & THE INTERNET.

Ever since Congressman Jack Fields left Congress in 1996, where he held the 3^rd highest ranking Republican position on the important House Energy and Commerce Committee, the people of District 2 have not had the same level of representation on Commerce & Energy issues, which so directly effect their business and economic future.  Clint Moore’s goal is to become a member of this committee, and serve as a pro-active advocate for all the economic and energy development issues that our country and our district needs. I have the experience and knowledge to be extremely effective for our district and our country, as a member of this critical committee.
